Aussie Rules: Port Adelaide, Adelaide, Carlton, Hawthorn & Fremantle
Life has been pretty hectic lately, so I’ve been neglecting my blogging responsibilities!
I’ll work backwards from this week as it might help me keep track.
The Adelaide Crows have made into the NAB Cup AFL Preseason Grand Final, so a quick shoot with Crows captain Simon Goodwin was necessary. I haven’t seen it yet, but the designers in Melbourne are going to stitch together my photo of Goodwin with a separate photo of Justin Koschitzke for the AFL Record Cover. Once I’ve got a copy I’ll upload a pic.
On their way to the final the Crows were helped out with a bit of Brett Burton brilliance when he took what may become mark of the year. All in all not a bad game, and it will be a good match again on Saturday. The week before and the Crows were successful again, in no small part due to the All Australian Captain Andrew McLeod. Matthew Pavlich for Fremantle never got into the game like was hoped, but still took a few good marks.

In the first week of the NAB Cup Carlton travelled to Adelaide to play Port Adelaide. It was a nervous match for both clubs, Carlton were hoping to improve on their poor 2007, and it was the first match for Port since their Grand Final in which they were thrashed. As it turned out Carlton went home victorious, and whilst coach Brett Ratten and captain Nick Stevens celebrated, they were aware of the fact that they played an ‘under-25s’ Port Adelaide.

This post is getting pretty long, so I’ll start another one to tell you about Kim & Parish’s wedding at West Beach.
