Given that in 2009 I started Rice and Rock Concerts for the seemingly obvious, a) I was in China and was eating a lot of rice, and b) I was on my way to Budapest to attend a rock concert. The Sziget Festival is on an island within the city limits of Budapest in Hungary. Headliners in the lineup in 2009 consisted of Lily Allen, Faith No More, The Offspring, The Editors, The Prodigy, Pendulum and more, but given that I was shooting for an agency a good number of these acts were off limit for me.
My tip for future Sziget festivals - stay in town, not onsite. I went a solid 5 nights with almost no sleep at all, the music just doesn't stop, and there is very little space in the campground!
